High Court Won't Disturb Limits On Mont. Campaign Donations

Law360, New York (October 23, 2012, 8:49 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to vacate a Ninth Circuit emergency order that ensured Montana's campaign donation limits would remain in place until after Election Day.

The high court rejected a request from conservative groups, including American Tradition Partnership PAC and the Montana Right to Life Association PAC, that it overturn the Ninth Circuit's temporary stay of U.S. District Judge Charles C. Lovell's ruling earlier this month that said the state's contribution limits were unconstitutionally low.
