India Accounts For 60% of World's Counterfeits, Study Finds

Law360, New York (November 19, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- India accounts for as much as 60% of the counterfeit goods in the world, a study by Permacel Private Limited found.

The country is one of the world's top producers of counterfeit drugs, leading to losses of about $800 million per year for the pharmaceutical sector, according to the study.
