Chevron, BP, Others Accused Of Price-Fixing In S. Africa

Law360, New York (October 24, 2012, 6:40 PM EDT) -- A price-fixing and market-division case against petroleum firms Shell, Chevron, BP and others selling diesel fuel in South Africa is headed to the Competition Tribunal for adjudication, after the Competition Commission announced Wednesday it had found evidence of collusion among the oil giants.

The Competition Commission said in a statement it had found collusive conduct in an investigation of Chevron SA (Pty.) Ltd., Engen Limited, Shell SA (Pty.) Ltd., Total SA (Pty.) Ltd., Sasol Ltd., BP SA Ltd. and the South African Petroleum Industry Association, the...
