9th Circuit Refuses To Rehear Mine Dumping Case

Law360 (October 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A United States appeals court has refused to rehear a case brought by Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. over its revoked permit to dump rock waste into a lake on federal land in Alaska, the gold mining company revealed on Tuesday.

Coeur said that a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit had denied a petition filed by its Alaskan subsidiary, the state of Alaska and the U.S. Forest Service and Army Corps of Engineers to reinstate its dumping permit.
