FDA Halts Distribution At 2 Supplement Makers

Law360, New York (October 26, 2012, 6:08 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Thursday it had reached an agreement with one supplement maker and won a court order against another to stop distribution of their products, continuing a recent string of enforcement measures against companies selling products as health-boosting supplements.

The agency has entered a consent decree with New York-based Venus Pharmaceuticals International Inc. in federal court, in which the company agreed to stop producing and distributing its dietary supplements in the United States. It will also recall and destroy certain products....
