St. Jude Escapes Volcano's Patent Claims Over Heart Device

Law360, New York (October 25, 2012, 9:33 PM EDT) -- A Delaware federal jury found Thursday that St. Jude Medical Inc. had not infringed three of rival medical device maker Volcano Corp.’s patents covering technology linked to certain pressure wires used for heart patients.

The jury found Volcano, which makes precision-guided therapy devices to treat diseases related to coronary blood vessels, had not shown that certain St. Jude’s PressureWire, Certus Generation and Aeris Generation pressure wire products had violated its patents.
