WebMD Illegally Copied Wellness Programs, Hospital Claims

Law360, New York (October 26, 2012, 2:28 PM EDT) -- National Jewish Health hit WebMD HealthCorp. with a copyright infringement suit in Colorado federal court on Thursday, claiming the health information website used confidential information regarding NJH's weight loss and smoking cessation programs to create a similar program for Lowe's Inc., breaching a nondisclosure agreement.

Denver-based NJH, a leading research hospital in the treatment of respiratory illnesses, claims New York-based WebMD used the programs to develop a similar program it sold to Lowe's, after the home improvement retailer had rejected the use of NJH's program....
