Stem Cell Co. Says Rival Infringed Blood Product Patents

Law360, New York (October 30, 2012, 5:17 PM EDT) -- Cell therapy equipment company Harvest Technologies Corp. hit rival ThermoGenesis Corp. with a patent infringement lawsuit last week, claiming a distributor leaked its patented blood separator technology to the competitor.

Harvest says ThermoGenesis’ Res-Q products are a ripoff of its own SmartPrep products that are protected by two U.S. patents, according to complaint filed on Oct. 24 in Delaware. Both equipment systems are used in the process of creating and administering stem cell-based recovery treatments.
