RIM Seeks "En Banc" Rehearing Of Blackberry Case

Law360 (August 19, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- BlackBerry maker Research in Motion, Inc. has filed a motion for an “en banc” rehearing of the ruling by the U.S. Federal Appeals Court in its patent battle with NTP Inc.

RIM has said it may appeal the ruling before the Supreme Court of the United States. If an "en banc" hearing is rejected, the case will be remanded this fall to a U.S. district court to decide if the settlement is binding.
