Australia Pushes Latin American-Asian Trade Link

Law360, New York (October 29, 2012, 3:12 PM EDT) -- Australia's trade minister on Sunday said the country plans to engage in talks and pursue trade deals with several Latin American countries in an effort to extend their access to the Asia-Pacific region.

Australian Minister for Trade and Competitiveness Craig Emerson said in a statement that the nation's current government has been exploring trade deals with Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile that could extend beyond Australia to other countries in the region.
