Aussie State To Restart Uranium Mining After 30-Year Ban

Law360, New York (October 30, 2012, 3:33 PM EDT) -- The Australian state of Queensland has lifted its 30-year ban on uranium mining and is now working to put together new safety, environmental and other regulatory best practices for reviving the industry, the state said Monday.

A six-member team of officials and environmental experts is expected to form the Uranium Implementation Committee and are tasked with establishing a regulatory framework for the development and operation of restarting the uranium mining and export business.
