DOJ Fights Subpoena Bid In GM Hybrid Trade Secrets Case

Law360, New York (October 30, 2012, 3:30 PM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors asked a Michigan federal judge on Monday to deny a subpoena to General Motors Co. from two electrical engineers on trial for allegedly scheming to steal GM's hybrid-car technology trade secrets and pass them on to a Chinese rival.

A subpoena by Shanshan Du and her husband, Yu Qin, seeks information on Du's 2005 termination from GM and her buyout, as well as information on the government's investigation and other information.

But the requests are far too broad and no different from similar subpoenas...
