Regulators Work To Reboot Nuke Plants Shuttered During Storm

Law360, New York (October 30, 2012, 3:47 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is working with federal and state regulators to restart service at three nuclear plants that shut down after Hurricane Sandy flooded facilities and high winds rocked the electrical grid, it said Tuesday.

The NRC said Entergy Corp.’s Indian Point, Exelon Corp.’s Nine Mile Island and PSEG Nuclear LLC’s Salem plants experienced shutdowns late Monday or in the early hours of Tuesday, and that a fourth plant, Exelon’s Oyster Creek, remained under alert. The plants are located in New Jersey and New...
