Convicted Pa. Pol Lacks Standing In PAC Dispute, Ex-Aide Says

Law360, Philadelphia (October 31, 2012, 4:10 PM EDT) -- A former aide for convicted Pennsylvania state Sen. Vince Fumo said in court filings Saturday that the politician lacks standing to bring a complaint alleging misappropriation of campaign money, arguing that the money belongs to an independent political action committee.

The aide, Dominic Cosenza, says the group is not a campaign committee — despite its name, “Fumo for Senate” — and that Fumo, who is ineligible to run for office due to his incarceration on corruption charges, has no control over it.
