RJ Reynolds Sues To Protect 'Camel,' 'Winston' Marks

Law360, New York (November 2, 2012, 4:50 PM EDT) -- R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. hit electronic cigarette maker SAS Technologies Inc. with a trademark infringement suit Friday, accusing the company of selling nicotine liquids under Reynolds’ well-known cigarette brand names.

Reynolds says SAS, which sells its MaxxVapor Pro e-cigarette through its website SaveASmoker.com, has been pushing “Winston” and “Camell” flavors of nicotine liquid for use in the cigarettes, even though the brand names are registered trademarks.
