ITC Clears Way For Chinese Solar Panel Import Duties

Law360, New York (November 7, 2012, 5:11 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Wednesday determined that Chinese solar panel products imported into the country at below market value have injured the domestic solar panel industry, clearing a final hurdle before stiff countervailing and anti-dumping duties can be placed on Chinese companies.

The ITC said in a unanimous ruling that the U.S. industry is materially injured by Chinese imports of crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells and modules following a nearly yearlong investigation. Chinese companies now face anti-dumping duty rates of up to nearly 250 percent....
