WR Grace Says Propex Concrete Fibers Violate Patents

Law360, New York (November 8, 2012, 3:19 PM EST) -- Bankrupt chemical conglomerate W.R. Grace & Co. on Tuesday lodged a patent infringement suit in Delaware federal court against Propex Operating Co. LLC, claiming the company is infringing technology used in W.R. Grace's reinforcing fibers for concrete structures.

Both companies sell concrete reinforcing fibers, but W.R. Grace alleges Propex’s Fibermesh 650 polymer reinforcing fibers violate four patents in W.R. Grace’s Strux Synthetic Fiber Reinforcement product, saying it never licensed Propex to use the patents.
