Britax Recalls Child Seat Restraints Due To Choking Hazard

Law360, New York (November 6, 2012, 5:43 PM EST) -- Britax Child Safety, Inc. is recalling as many as 60,000 child seat restraints over concerns that they could create a choking hazard for young children, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced Monday.

The company informed the NHTSA of its decision to recall three car seat models after receiving reports that chest padding material on their restraint system, known as HUGS pads, are soft enough that they can be chewed or bitten into pieces, creating a choking hazard.
