Rep. Misunderstood Fracking Public Health Data, Pa. DEP Says

Law360, Philadelphia (November 7, 2012, 2:50 PM EST) -- The head of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection responded Tuesday to a state representative's concerns that the agency has been obscuring data that demonstrates the public health risks of gas drilling in the state’s Marcellus Shale, claiming the legislator misunderstood crucial details. 

In a letter, DEP Secretary Michael Krancer told Rep. Jesse White, D-Allegheny, that the legislator had misinterpreted testimony by a laboratory director for the agency and demonstrated an improper understanding of the relationship between the agency’s field and lab employees.
