Ex-AKR Partners Hit Back At Firm's Founder Over Windup

Law360, New York (November 7, 2012, 9:32 PM EST) -- A dispute over the windup of New York white collar boutique Arkin Kaplan Rice LLP intensified Tuesday after two former partners sued co-founder Stanley Arkin in New York state court alleging Arkin and a colleague secretly transferred assets to a new firm without properly notifying them.

Former partners Howard J. Kaplan and Michelle A. Rice allege that Arkin and another ex-partner, Lisa Solbakken, purported to make good-faith efforts to wind up AKR in January but instead transferred the firm's assets to start Arkin Solbakken LLP....
