Insurer, Policyholder Attys Join Forces In New Group

By Bibeka Shrestha (November 8, 2012, 4:27 PM EST) -- Attorneys who represent insurers and policyholders have come together to form the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel, aiming to improve the practice of insurance law in the U.S. and Canada through dialogue and outreach, the group said Thursday.

The college — led by inaugural president Thomas Segalla, a Goldberg Segalla LLP partner — will be holding seminars and sharing scholarship focused on the creative, ethical and efficient adjudication of insurance disputes.

Segalla said the time seemed right to establish a group to inform the bench and bar, corporate risk managers, and insurance executives about major issues in insurance law. ...
