Judge Won't Halt Early Work On $2.6B Ky. Bridge Project

Law360, Wilmington (November 8, 2012, 8:14 PM EST) -- A Kentucky federal judge on Thursday rejected a transportation and environmental nonprofit’s effort to stall preliminary work on a $2.6 billion bridge project connecting the state to Indiana, finding the injunction bid to be premature at such an early stage in the case.

The Coalition for the Advancement of Regional Transportation Inc. failed to show that it or the public would be irreparably harmed by initial construction, such as tree-clearing, going forward, according to an opinion from U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn II.
