Japanese Tamiflu Demand Slows In Wake Of Deaths

Law360, New York (November 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Amid growing concern over an anti-influenza drug's effect on the teenage population, Chugai Pharmaceutical Co has decided to slash its Tamiflu supply to Japan by half for the upcoming flu season.

On Monday, the Roche Holding AG Unit revealed its decision to cut back on the Tamiflu shipment, just months after a number of Japanese teenagers committed suicide while taking the blockbuster drug.
