Insurer Off The Hook For $1M Anheuser-Busch Asbestos Deal

Law360, New York (November 9, 2012, 3:46 PM EST) -- A Philadelphia County judge ruled in an opinion posted online Friday that an insurer for Anheuser-Busch Inc. is not liable for a $1 million settlement the brewer reached with a former employee who allegedly was exposed to asbestos during his 34 years with the company.

Judge Patricia McInerney granted summary judgment to the Insurance Company of North America, finding that the contract between Anheuser-Busch and Pennsylvania-based INA for an insurance policy covering 1981-82 was governed by New York law, the site where the coverage was issued....
