Jury Sides With Seat Belt Maker In Personal Injury Case

Law360, New York (November 9, 2012, 6:50 PM EST) -- An Alabama state jury on Thursday let Key Safety Systems Inc. off the hook in a suit brought by a consumer who claimed the company's defective seat belts contributed to injuries she and her unborn son sustained in a 2007 car accident.

After a nine-day trial, the Mobile County jury issued a verdict in favor of Key Safety, effectively releasing the automotive safety equipment manufacturer from liability, compensatory damages, punitive damages and other relief sought by Patricia Harman.
