Fed. Circ. Affirms $74M Edwards Award In Catheter IP Row

Law360, New York (November 13, 2012, 6:11 PM EST) -- The Federal Circuit on Tuesday upheld a $73.9 million award in favor of Edwards Lifesciences Corp. in a patent dispute with CoreValve Inc. over catheter heart valve technology, finding there was enough evidence to substantiate an infringement verdict against CoreValve.

A three-judge panel affirmed most of U.S. District Judge Gregory M. Sleet's ruling that kept in place damages awarded to Edwards by a jury, but instructed the judge to review his denial of an Edwards' post-trial request for an injunction blocking CoreValve from making devices used...
