Singapore, European Union Sign IP Agreement

Law360, New York (November 20, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- Singapore’s Intellectual Property Office (IPOS) and the European Patent Office (EPO) signed an agreement to increase cooperation on the protection of intellectual property.

The Memorandum of Understanding, aimed at strengthening existing agreements through a series of activities between 2004 and 2006, was signed during the Europe-Asia Heads of Intellectual Property Offices Conference 2003 involving top representatives of the IP offices in ASEAN, Europe, Korea, Japan, China and the U.S.

Activities will include improving expertise through training and increasing awareness of the need to safeguard intellectual property....
