Longtime Lobbyist Appointed As SC Insurance Head

Law360, New York (November 14, 2012, 6:52 PM EST) -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley on Tuesday named a regional executive at the American Insurance Association as director of the state's insurance department, touting his business perspective and experience working with regulators across the country.

Ray Farmer, vice president for state affairs in the AIA's Southeast Region office, will need the state senate's approval before he can take up the role.
