Canada Says RBS Lied About Cooperation In Libor Probe

Law360, New York (November 14, 2012, 6:34 PM EST) -- Canada's antitrust watchdog rebuked the Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC on Wednesday, saying it falsely claimed it had cooperated fully with investigators looking into allegations the bank rigged the London Interbank Offered Rate.

Canada's Competition Bureau said RBS has challenged a production order the Ontario Superior Court of Justice issued in relation to the probe, and so far has not applied for a program that offers parties involved in illegal cartel activity more lenient sentences for cooperating with investigators.
