11th Circ. Rejects ClearPlay's Claims In DVD Filter IP Row

Law360, New York (November 15, 2012, 4:07 PM EST) -- The Eleventh Circuit on Wednesday affirmed a lower court's rulings dismissing contract claims brought by ClearPlay Inc. in a dispute with rival Nissim Corp. over Nissim's efforts to get ClearPlay's allegedly patent-infringing DVD players pulled from Target and Best Buy stores.

A three judge panel said ClearPlay failed to show why the suit should be reopened, affirming two rulings issued by U.S. District Judge Paul C. Huck that granted Nissim summary judgment on ClearPlay's breach of contract, tortious interference with contractual relationships, and Florida state law...
