House Reps. Want New Health Care Panel To Repeal ACA

Law360, New York (November 14, 2012, 7:07 PM EST) -- Three Republican congressmen will propose creating a new permanent committee that would have jurisdiction over all health care matters, according to a letter addressed Wednesday to colleagues, saying such a panel would make it easier for Republicans to repeal the Affordable Care Act in 2017.

In a long-shot bid led by Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., the legislators argued in the letter that Republicans should use their control of the U.S. House of Representatives to reorganize the health care committees.
