BP To Pay $4.5B, Cop To Worker Deaths In Deepwater Spill

Law360, New York (November 15, 2012, 1:04 PM EST) -- BP PLC agreed Thursday to pay a record $4.5 billion in federal penalties over the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and plead guilty to criminal charges involving rig worker deaths and lying to Congress, resolving all criminal and securities claims brought by the U.S. government over the disaster.
