OSHA To Investigate Wal-Mart Whistleblower's Claims

Law360, New York (November 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has opened an investigation into whether a Wal-Mart Stores senior executive accused of insider trading unjustly dealt with the whistleblower who outed her.

OSHA recently sent the whistleblower, Chalace Epley Lowry, a letter saying that it is conducting an investigation into the allegations, Business Week reported on Tuesday. Lowry said Wal-Mart broke a promise to keep her name confidential and therefore caused her to develop stress-induced chest pains, separate from her husband and have her house foreclosed.
