FedEx Pays To Quell Union-Busting Claims

Law360, New York (November 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- As it fights a National Labor Relations Board ruling over employee status in the D.C. Circuit, FedEx Ground Package System Inc. has settled the board's claims that it bullied Massachusetts delivery drivers over their pro-union views.

It shelled out $253,000 on Tuesday to five drivers from the shipper's Northboro, Mass., terminal to settle the National Labor Relations Board's June complaint of unfair labor practices. FedEx did not admit to any National Labor Relations Act violations or that the five drivers were legally employees.
