Int’l Cos. Ask UN For Global Carbon Dioxide Emissions Price

Law360, New York (November 19, 2012, 2:24 PM EST) -- With the United Nations' annual climate change conference a week away, scores of companies including Royal Dutch Shell PLC and Unilever NV on Monday urged governments to set a global price for carbon dioxide in order to boost investment in ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Over 100 international companies in a variety of industries said in a joint statement issued to the European Union that a fixed, global price on carbon dioxide would offer regulatory certainty and create a level playing field for low-carbon investment....
