ACA Limits Medicare Premium Increase To 5%, CMS Says

Law360, New York (November 19, 2012, 7:07 PM EST) -- Medicare premiums next year will climb 5 percent, about half as much as expected, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said Friday in a development it heralded as evidence of cost savings delivered by health reform.

The government said monthly payments for Medicare Part B medical insurance will rise to nearly $105 from about $100, a significant pullback from earlier projections that saw bills spiking to $109.
