EU Court Bars Watchdog's Release Of Akzo Cartel Case For Now

Law360, New York (November 20, 2012, 3:29 PM EST) -- A European court on Friday temporarily blocked the region's antitrust watchdog from publicly releasing an extended version of a 2006 bleach cartel case decision, finding there was a risk it would harm Akzo Nobel NV by publishing confidential information submitted in leniency filings.

The European Union General Court granted Dutch chemical company Akzo Nobel's request for an interim order preventing the European Commission from publishing the extended decision until the court can fully consider the company's claims that the release would violate its expectation of privacy....
