SEC Sanctions Barthelemy, Other Firm For Impeding Probes

Law360, New York (November 20, 2012, 10:58 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday sanctioned two investment advisory firms, including New York-based Barthelemy Group LLC, which was barred from the securities industry, for allegedly impeding an investigation by the agency.

Barthelemy Group and its owner, Evens Barthelemy, and San Francisco-area EM Capital Management LLC and its CEO, Seth R. Freeman, settled the charges with the SEC and agreed to sanctions without admitting or denying the allegations, according to a statement from the agency.
