Rambus Defends Judgment Bid On Monopoly Claims

Law360 (November 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Rambus Inc. on Wednesday argued that a court should dismiss counterclaims brought by companies it sued over memory process patents, affirming an earlier motion for summary judgment. The companies alleged that Rambus acted to monopolize the industry.

“[B]ecause the monopolization claimants have come forward with no probative evidence that would allow a reasonable jury to find that the purported alternatives are properly considered part of the prestandardization relevant markets, summary judgment on their monopolization and attempted monopolization claims is required,” Rambus said in its reply....
