Union Says San-West Owes Benefits Contributions

Law360, New York (November 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- San-West Coal Co. Inc. has been targeted in a lawsuit by a union that claims the mining company failed to contribute to an employee welfare benefit trust almost every year since the trust was started in 1993.

San-West owes the employee trust about $15,600 in contributions that were due every year since the plan began except 1992 and 1996, trustees for United Mine Workers of America alleged in their complaint, filed on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for Washington, D.C.
