Fuel Group Urges EPA To Put Biodiesel Hike On Hold

Law360, New York (November 26, 2012, 5:22 PM EST) -- A fuel industry group has called on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to backpedal on its recent decision to increase its biomass diesel fuel mandate for 2013 by more than a quarter, claiming the move will drive up refining and consumer fuel costs.

The American Fuel & Petroleum Manufacturers petitioned the EPA on Nov. 20 to reconsider a rule hiking the total volume of biomass-based diesel fuel in U.S. markets from 1 billion gallons to 1.28 billion gallons next year.
