Seventh Circuit Orders Compensation For Strikers

Law360 (November 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Affirming a decision of the U.S. National Labor Relations Board, a federal appellate court has ordered Midwestern Personnel Services Inc. to compensate 11 workers who participated in a union-backed strike several years ago for almost two years' worth of back pay.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit unanimously upheld the NLRB's finding that the strikers in question had made a reasonable attempt to secure interim employment during the strike and were therefore owed the back pay.
