Apple Wins Partial Dutch Ban On Samsung Galaxy Devices

Law360, New York (November 28, 2012, 2:38 PM EST) -- A Dutch court on Wednesday banned the sale of certain Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. Galaxy smartphones and tablets after determining the devices infringe an Apple Inc. patent covering touch-screen display technology.

A district court in the Hague said Samsung Galaxy products running on Android operating system version 2.2.1 to 3.0 infringe an Apple patent used to manage digital photos on an electronic device. The disputed technology is related to the Galaxy's gallery application which is used for viewing photos.
