Merck Will Look At Claims Before Shelling Out $4.85B

Law360, New York (November 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Drug giant Merck & Co., Inc.. will make out the checks in its $4.85 billion settlement over its once blockbuster painkiller Vioxx much the same way it said it would litigate the 26,000 lawsuits it faced – one by one.
