Cozen Can't Dispute Wolf Block Unserved Suit: Appeals Court

Law360, Philadelphia (November 29, 2012, 2:42 PM EST) -- The Pennsylvania Superior Court on Tuesday ruled against Cozen O'Connor when it declined to overturn a voluntary discontinuance granted by a trial court to four former partners of dissolved law firm Wolf Block LLP who sued Cozen in 2011.

The three-judge panel found that Cozen — which appealed to oppose the discontinuance — did not properly challenge the former partners’ failure to serve a summons for the case and that the trial court was correct in ruling that the firm suffered no harm from the discontinuance....
