Wis. Says NewPage Ch. 11 Plan Shirks Cleanup Duties

Law360, Wilmington (November 29, 2012, 4:40 PM EST) -- The state of Wisconsin said Thursday that NewPage Corp.'s reorganization plan improperly handcuffs regulators from enforcing the troubled paper company's environmental cleanup duties at four mills in the state.

In an objection filed in Delaware bankruptcy court, Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen took issue with “broad injunctions” in the plan against the enforcement of claims against NewPage after it exits bankruptcy.
