Barclays Vows To Take FERC To Court If Fined $435M

Law360, New York (November 29, 2012, 10:45 PM EST) -- Barclays PLC on Thursday vowed to take a fight over alleged energy market manipulation to federal district court if the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission finds a violation and orders the bank to pay $435 million in proposed fines.

In a regulatory filing, Barclays said if the commission assesses the penalties proposed last month — $435 million in fines, plus $34.9 million in disgorgement — the bank plans to ask a U.S. district court to review the decision.
