Penny-Pinching NY Courts Ask For $1.97B Budget

Law360, New York (November 30, 2012, 5:56 PM EST) -- The New York Court of Appeals' chief judge requested $1.97 billion Friday to fund the state's courts next year, telling Gov. Andrew Cuomo and other leaders that careful control over payroll and zero funding for new capital projects would offset increases in judges' salaries and civil legal spending.
