All Appropriate Inquiries, One Year Later

Nov. 1 marked one full year since the effective date of EPA’s rule prescribing detailed standards for environmental site assessments to constitute “All Appropriate Inquiry.”

The EPA rule, and the updated standard published by the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), spelled out for the first time exactly what a Phase I report should look like so property buyers know they have investigated enough to be considered an “innocent landowner” under federal Superfund law.
