Republicans Say HHS Is Biased Against Fracking

Law360, New York (December 3, 2012, 8:23 PM EST) -- House Republicans on Friday challenged the objectivity and scientific judgment of the Department of Health and Human Services’ research on the potential for shale gas development to affect public health, saying it should examine its approach before conducting further studies.

Top members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee sent a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius questioning three health evaluations related to natural gas development and arguing a top Centers for Disease Control official may be unfit to oversee shale gas health research.
